DAGS is a non-profit, voluntary organization of persons interested in “Aging Issues.” Its purpose is to:

• Provide regular programs of continuing professional gerontological education.
  
  
• Provide academic scholarships to individuals pursuing a career in the aging field.
  
  
• Disseminate new information in gerontology.
  
  
• Provide educational materials to the public regarding Aging Issues.
  
  
• Provide a public forum for discussion and education on public policy regarding individual and program needs for the elderly.
  
  
• Develop position statements regarding the needs of elderly persons and advocate for improved services.
